Hello there! I’m Sarah Harlow and I’m a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist, specialising in supporting anyone with anxiety and stress (with a particular interest in creative people.) I help clients to increase in confidence and self esteem (and much more.)
I’ve always had a desire to help people and make a difference. I did not come to this easily or in a conventional way, but I’ve learnt that small and simple steps have a powerful, lasting effect.
Diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) at 17, I was constantly anxious and embarrassed by the condition set off by A-level stress. A specialist recommended more conventional Hypnotherapy (using direct suggestions), which helped me enormously with stomach pain, but I still had low self-esteem and confidence issues all through my teens, and to be honest most of my twenties.
Huge stress and personal upheaval in 2014 caused the anxiety to return in the form of Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD.) In that dark tunnel, waiting for the light to return, I desperately wanted my life back. I was incredibly lucky to have people show me that I had access to my own torch all along. Now I want to give that back.
I had my second dose of therapy in 2019 when I met a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist through a do Terra essential oils event. I attended sessions with the hope of ridding myself of the anxiety symptoms that sometimes still had a grip on my body, but it came with an unexpected side order of confidence, self-love and then a massive career change. I knew I wanted to help people in the same way this wonderful woman had.
*UNWIND & UPLIFT*
Having worked in administration for a film school for 10 years and running a local writers group for 5 of those, I’m constantly surrounded by creative people. I can see the huge link between creativity and wellbeing and enormous benefit to unlocking it. I began to touch on this when I took an online course in January 2019 – Therapeutic and Reflective Writing.
I’m still in search of anything ‘feel good’, relaxing or therapeutic in any way – for you, for me, for anyone wanting to unwind and uplift themselves. We can always continue adding to our toolkits.
